Case Projects
The Case Projects that we offer are extracurricular opportunities for excellent students. These projects are completed in addition to the standard curriculum of the master programme. There are two different Case Projects designed for our master Media Studies students.
Brand Potential Academy
The Brand Potential Academy is een praktisch Case Project dat wordt georganiseerd door de internationale brand agency Brand Potential. Het project is toegankelijk voor zowel masterstudenten als derdejaars IBCoM studenten. The Brand Potential Academy is ontwikkeld om de kloof tussen theorie en praktijk te verkleinen. Tijdens dit project leren studenten meer over merkstrategie, creatief concept design, PR en social media content creatie door te werken aan een echte case. Studenten kunnen vijf interactieve sessies verwachten die worden verzorgd door Brand Potential professionals en zullen in de laatste sessie pitchen voor een professionele jury.
The Consortium
The Consortium aims to provide additional knowledge and hands-on training in Communication and Futures studies for a small group of 5 to 8 students. This year The Consortium students will choose between two major organisations to help them imagine their futures. The first one is TNO, a major think tank located in The Hague. The second organisation is the International Film Festival Rotterdam. Students will have meetings and workshops with different guest lecturers to acquire the necessary skills to produce a final report. They will work closely with their chosen organisation and acquire professional skills adapted to the world of tomorrow.
Thesis at external organisation
In term 3 and 4, you will be working on your thesis. You will be matched to an individual thesis supervisor, based on your preferences and availability of staff. You develop a socially and academically relevant research question, set-up a research design, conduct a small study, and write the thesis. During the entire trajectory, you can expect individual supervision by an experienced staff member. In addition, each year, we offer a few opportunities with organisations in our own network or you may find your own host organisation for a thesis project.
