Application procedure

Requirements

To be accepted as a visiting exchange student, you need to be nominated by your home university. Nominations should be sent to the Exchange Officer via email: exchange@eshpm.eur.nl.

After being nominated by your home university, we will provide you with further instructions on your application via email.

Students who are selected for the exchange programme will receive a confirmation message with details on the start of the programme, tips for accommodation in Rotterdam, and more.

Exchange students coming to Rotterdam in the first semester are expected to arrive in Rotterdam before the end of August.

Application procedure

When applying for our exchange programme, please make sure you have the following necessary documents ready in time:

  • A copy of your valid passport
  • Official Transcript of Records (starting from Bachelor year 1 to present, including courses you are currently enrolled in). All students should have completed at least one year of their Bachelor’s degree programme
  • Proof of English proficiency (see further details below).

Language requirements

Exchange students are expected to have an English proficiency of at least:

  • 6.5 IELTS sore minimum of 6.5 on all components
  • IBT TOEFL (valid for 2 years) score minimum of 90
  • International Baccalaureate (English A or B)
  • Cambridge B2 First, C1 Advanced, or C2 Proficiency
  • Students whose native language is English or whose study programme at the home university is completely taught in English, do not need to take an English proficiency test.

  • Fall semester (September – December/January) 
  • Spring semester (February – July) 

Nomination deadlines

  • Fall semester (Bachelor and Master): 15 April 2025 
  • Spring semester (only Master): 15 October 2025 

Application deadlines

  • Fall semester (Bachelor and Master): 1 May 2025 
  • Spring semester (only Master): 1 November 2025
