International Partnerships

Besides engaging in academic research collaborations with international partners, we are also partnering with 80 universities worldwide for the purpose of student and staff exchange.
European partnerships usually are concluded under the framework of the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission and facilitate exchange of students and staff. Global partnerships can be part of university-wide exchange agreements, when more than one faculty is interested in partnering, but also faculty-specific student exchange agreements. If you are interested in becoming an exchange partner, please contact the coordinator for internationalisation (internationalisation@law.eur.nl).

What are we looking for in partnerships with other universities?

We strive for balanced partnerships with like-minded faculties sharing the similar values.

Our outgoing students should have a rewarding, interesting and challenging exchange experience, so we are looking for matches in course offers and similar time-schedules, As criminology is an important subject at ESL, we will keep an eye open for suitable specializations at partner universities. Finally, we will evaluate partnerships also by making sure that our students feel welcomed by local staff and students and that the interaction with the international exchange partner is professional.

We are currently re-evaluating our strategic priorities for partnerships, aligning it with the updated ESL Strategy 2025-2029. If you are interested in a partnership with the Erasmus School of Law, please contact the Coordinator Internationalisation

What do we offer?

We offer exchange possibilities for both law and criminology students. At ESL, all Bachelor education is offered in Dutch with the exception of only few English-taught courses, so incoming students must evaluate the course offer carefully. At Master-level, both Dutch and English-taught courses are offered. We accept Bachelor students from our partners from their third year onwards to join our English-Master courses.

If you are interested in becoming a partner of our Law school, please contact internationalisation@law.eur.nl for further information.
