The ELS Academy Research School invites abstract submissions for its Annual Event, which will be held on 10-11 October 2024 at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. The objective of this event is to bring together early-career and senior researchers in the field of Empirical Legal Studies. The event provides participants with the opportunity to learn about new ELS research topics and methods, develop their academic and professional networks, and improve their research based on feedback from their peers and senior scholars.
The conference will include a lecture, as well as a short methods workshop, by keynote speaker Prof. Lee Epstein, a workshop on ethics and data, an expert panel on measurement issues, and panel sessions where early career-scholars can present their research to an international and interdisciplinary audience. There will be two types of panels: ‘regular’ panels with presentations of completed research projects (with results) and ‘pre-analysis’ panels with presentations of well-developed research designs (that are close to data collection), to receive early feedback. Finally, as a unique addition to this event, there will be a ‘Collaborative Research Design’ session, in which participants have a chance to win a research grant of €5,000 to facilitate the execution of a to-be-developed research project.
Abstracts for papers and research ideas for the collaborative session can be submitted, together with a short biography, below.* The deadline for submissions is 30 June, 2024.
* Please note that if you would like to submit more than one abstract, submissions must be made separately.
