As researchers increasingly work with personal, sensitive, and IP-protected data, they face growing legal uncertainty from overlapping EU laws: the GDPR, AI Act, Data Governance Act, Data Act, and DSM Directive. LEGIS responds by developing a Legal Roadmap, an Open Knowledge Platform, and a National Expert Network to help researchers and institutions navigate these challenges with confidence.
At this kickoff event, hosted by the Erasmus Centre of Law and Digitization, you'll be introduced to the project's vision and outputs, and hear from distinguished international speakers who will share frontline perspectives on legal clarity, data interoperability, and the future of research data sharing:

Together, we'll explore where the frontiers of current practice lie across at national and international scales.
