Philosophy of a Specific Discipline as a single bachelor

In case you are not interested in the double bachelor construction, it is also possible to study the Bachelor in Philosophy of a Specific Discipline as a single bachelor. If you are planning to do this, please contact philosophy@esphil.eur.nl, so we can help you work out a study plan.

Philosophy of a Specific Discipline (180 EC) consists of 90 EC at Erasmus School of Philosophy and 90 EC at any other school at Erasmus University. This means you enrol for both the Philosophy of a Specific Discipline and for another programme of your choice at Erasmus University. For example: If you would like to follow the Bachelor in Philosophy of a Specific Discipline specializing in Economics, you enrol for both the Bachelor in Philosophy of a Specific Discipline and for the Bachelor Economics at Erasmus School of Economics.

To ensure the quality of the programme, you need to ask approval for your study plan from the Examination Board of Erasmus School of Philosophy (see forms and example below). Please hand in part 1 of the approval form in September of the year you start and send the form to examinationboard@esphil.eur.nl. You have to hand in the second part of the form before February 1st of the year in which you would like to graduate. When there have been changes in your study programme, please also hand in a revised version of part 1.
