During the EFR/EenVandaag election debate 2025, six prominent Dutch political leaders will take the stage. They will face off on key societal issues as they compete for votes in the upcoming parliamentary elections. The event will take place on Monday, 27 October 2025, at Rotterdam Ahoy, and is a recurring event organised before every election by Erasmus School of Economics’ study association EFR and the current affairs television programme EenVandaag.
The debates will be between the leaders of six prominent Dutch political parties: Dilan Yesilgöz (VVD), Frans Timmermans (GroenLinks/PvdA), Geert Wilders (PVV), Rob Jetten (D66), Henri Bontenbal (CDA), and Joost Eerdmans (JA21). These political leaders will discuss current and relevant political themes.
The party leaders will compete in three debates, each with a different theme. Each debate will consist of four party leaders, taking turns so that everyone has the chance to participate in two debates. The evening will be moderated by Suzanne Bosman, host of EenVandaag and a prominent figure in the Dutch news landscape.
Students from all educational backgrounds are welcome
A unique characteristic of the EFR/Eenvandaag election debate is its focus on students. The debate will be broadcasted live on NPO 1, but the physical audience only consists of students who attend tertiary education in the Netherlands. Students from different educational backgrounds will have a voice in the short videos introducing the debates.
Attend live at Rotterdam Ahoy
While this spectacle will be broadcast on national television, it is also possible to attend in person at Rotterdam Ahoy. Tickets are now available for sale and can only be booked until 20 October, due to high demand. EFR, as part of Erasmus School of Economics, is very much looking forward to the event and hopes to see you there!
