The Executive Board appoints Mohamed El Bouchtaoui as Director of Finance

The Executive Board of Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) has appointed Mohamed El Bouchtaoui as the new Director of Finance. He will take up this position as of 1 May 2026.

Mohamed El Bouchtaoui brings extensive experience in financial management, concern control and governance within complex organisations. Since joining EUR as Head of Corporate Financial Policy & Control within the Corporate Planning & Control (CPC) department, he has led the Corporate Financial Policy and Corporate Control teams and has played a key role in strategic financial issues and decision-making. With his broad experience and in-depth knowledge of both internal organisational processes and financial best practices, he will contribute to the further professionalisation and strengthening of the university’s financial organisation.

Mohamed El Bouchtaoui: 'I see Finance as a strategic partner of the university. About Mohamed El Bouchtaoui
Mohamed El Bouchtaoui holds a Master of Science degree and is a Registered Accountant (RA). He began his career as an accountant at a Big Four firm and subsequently worked as an advisor in the field of risk, control and governance, including for several large educational institutions. Since joining Erasmus University Rotterdam, he has been responsible as Head of Corporate Financial Policy & Control for the development and safeguarding of financial policy and the further development of the planning & control products. As Director of Finance, he focuses on stable financial management and supporting the university’s strategic ambitions.
