GELIJKSPEL workshop during Student Wellbeing Week

Students sharing their thoughts in the Living Room at EUR

Who should make the first move? After the very successful first edition last year, IDEA Center once again invited GELIJKSPEL (Fair Play) to deliver an interactive workshop on positive sexual behaviour as part of the Student Wellbeing Week at Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam.

The workshop "Let's Talk about Sex" focuses on the positive: students learn more about how they can express their wishes and how they can interact with each other in a positive way regarding sexual behaviour. Our students come from all walks of life with their own experiences, cultural backgrounds and previous teachings - the workshop helped to establish a common language, to learn about personal boundaries, and to level the playing field.

Students were asked to think about and exchange views on questions, such as "What effect does alcohol have on expressing wishes and boundaries?" and "Is it easier or more difficult to express yourself via online messages?". One student said: "We often associate certain behaviours with certain genders when it comes to making the first move, but it's interesting to see that reality can be quite different."

Let’s keep on having these important, and fun, conversations!
