Top athletes in higher education can continue to count on structural support in combining sport and study at the highest level. Thirty higher education institutions, including Erasmus University Rotterdam, and NOC*NSF have signed the Flexible Education and Top-Level Sport Agreement 2032 (FLOT 3.0). This means they will continue their collaboration for at least the next eight years.
The agreement will be implemented through the Flexible Education and Top-Level Sport Action Plan 3.0 (FLOT 3.0), which focuses on the educational and career prospects of students who are top-level athletes. The plan contains concrete agreements on flexible education, personal guidance, financial support and knowledge sharing between educational institutions and sports organisations.

Marc van den Tweel, Managing Director of NOC*NSF, endorses the importance of the collaboration. 'The Action Plan gives future sporting talents the certainty that they will be supported in their ambitions in all areas,' he said at the signing last Friday. He also expressed his gratitude to the higher education institutions for their ongoing efforts on behalf of top athletes who are also students.
Ellen van Schoten, member of the Executive Board, signed the agreement on behalf of Erasmus University Rotterdam.

This joint effort creates a solid foundation for top athletes to develop at the highest level, both in terms of sport and their broader future. This dual career gives them the space to develop sporting and social skills and to continue to inspire the Netherlands with the power of top-level sport. Letter of Intent
The reinforcement of the collaboration follows a letter of intent signed at the end of September by the Association of Universities of Applied Sciences, Universities of the Netherlands and NOC*NSF. In addition, the FLOR 3.0 Action Plan is supported by the Ministries of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) and Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS).
