Interview with Nobel prize Laureate Guido Imbens in ESB

On 30 June 2022, winner of the 2021 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences and former Erasmus School of Economics student Guido Imbens visited his alma mater. During the day he gave an inspirational lecture wherein he discussed the importance of asking the right question and how to study causal effects in real world data sets. Yrla van de Ven, editor at ESB, and Thijs Busschots, assistant editor at ESB, spoke with Guido Imbens before the lecture.

Yrla van de Ven and Thijs Busschots from ESB, a Dutch language, non-academic journal which publishes articles written by scientists or economic policy officers, conducted an interview with professor Imbens. In it, many topics were discussed: Imbens spoke openheartedly about his decision to move to the United States, his research efforts and its impact on policy and the real world.
