ODISSEI receives a grant from the Large-Scale Research Infrastructure

This will enable ten consortia to modernise, strengthen or better interconnect existing research facilities. ODISSEI, the Dutch infrastructure for social science research based at Erasmus University Rotterdam, has been awarded a grant in collaboration with its consortium partner, the Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute (NIDI).

This allocation will enable existing Large-scale Research Infrastructures (LSRI) to be modernised, strengthened or better interconnected to achieve (beyond) state-of-the-art standards. This will extend the operational lifetime of the research infrastructure and ensure they remain aligned with the latest scientific and technological developments. Greening of the LSRI can also be part of the investment.

ODISSEI Deepfield

Main applicant: dr. Tom Emery, Erasmus University Rotterdam

Consortium partner: Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute (NIDI).

ODISSEI is the Dutch infrastructure for Social Science research, giving researchers access to powerful tools and unique data. One of its key resources is the LISS panel, a group of 5,000 randomly selected households who answer monthly surveys on topics like politics, personal preferences and daily life. The data can even be linked to government records, offering researchers rare insights. The ODISSEI Deepfield project will expand the panel to 10,000 households, doubling its capacity and allowing for more detailed studies of smaller groups. Like a telescope
