RefWorks will become EndNote Fusion

In early October 2026, RefWorks will become EndNote Fusion. Users who access RefWorks will be automatically redirected to the EndNote Fusion URL. No action is required. All existing references, settings, projects, folders, attachments, tags, custom citation styles, and sharing permissions, will transfer automatically.

The Word and Google Docs add-on RCM (RefWorks Citation Manager) will automatically be renamed to EndNote Fusion for Word or Google Docs. There is no plan for any downtime during this change.

EndNote Fusion will not remove any RefWorks features, but it will introduce a few new features. This includes:

  • A new browser extension that provides a more powerful and user-friendly way to save references, PDFs, and web content than the traditional Save to RefWorks bookmarklet. Links for the EndNote Fusion browser extension will be available when EndNote Fusion launches.
  • ‘Find Full Text in Bulk’, which allows you to search freely available full-text PDFs of up to 250 references.
  • An improved AI-powered PDF Research Assistant, which can create summaries and translations.
  • ‘Find a Journal’, which helps authors identify suitable journals for manuscript submission.
