Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR)’s first concerns are with the Turkish academic staff and students, who are temporarily working or studying in the Netherlands. They can possibly be called back to Turkey by their home university.
EUR supports the statement of the VSNU and the EUA, in which European universities speak against the actions targeting Turkish universities and their staffs.
International academic values and the principles of academic freedom prevail for EUR. Science is eminently international. Academics and students should be able to move freely. Be sure to read the statement by Magna Charta Observatory.
