Education that is ready for the future

These are the five motivations behind Npuls

What is Npuls?

Npuls is the national digitisation initiative for higher education. All 102 public universities, universities of applied sciences and vocational education institutions are working together over a period of eight years to build a future-proof education sector. An education sector that organises itself smart and strong from within, that is resilient and actively anticipates changes in society and the labour market. This to ensure that learners can learn without barriers and continuously receive the best education. By working together on joint sector ambitions, we are giving a targeted boost to innovation and use the opportunities offered by digitisation.

Sector ambitions

The sector promises learners 'Learning without obstacles' and 'Continued high-quality education', with AI and data being used in an ethical and effective way. These promises have been translated into sector ambitions. The sector ambitions describe what the sector, working together within Npuls, wants to achieve for Dutch tertiary education. They indicate the changes and results needed to make tertiary education future-proof and to deliver on the sector's ambitions for learners and education professionals. The sector ambitions have been established within the sector associations. This represents a commitment to lasting change.
