Alumna Governance of Migration and Diversity (Public Administration)

I initially wanted to do my Masters in the Netherlands due to their practical approach to education. When I first came across the Governance of Migration and Diversity programme I became excited by the fact that it was a one of a kind. It is rare to find a study that focuses solely on migration and diversity from almost every different angle; historically, sociologically and politically. I also liked the idea of getting the opportunity to know Delft, Leiden, Rotterdam and The Hague, as our classes took place in all of these cities.

As expected, the course had a very practical approach to teaching and left me with a good understanding of the main issues at stake when it comes to talking about migration and diversity. This knowledge continued to be useful after graduation, in my everyday life in the Netherlands and working for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in The Hague. I started at IOM as a research intern and this led to employment. Two years later I am still here. I am very grateful that Erasmus University Rotterdam allowed me to combine thesis research with an internship and would recommend it to future GMD students.
