Meet Hanna and Ludovica, two adventurous friends in their third year of the International Bachelor of Communication and Media. Their shared passion for exploring new places led them to an exciting opportunity abroad.
Finding the perfect internship abroad
Initially, both Hanna and Ludovica were searching for internships in the Netherlands. However, the job market proved to be challenging. This let them to broaden their horizons and consider opportunities abroad. They previously went on a vacation together in Faro, Portugal. During that vacation they fell in love with Portugal's vibrant culture and stunning landscapes. They also came across Salty Experiences, a company specializing in tourism, cultural experiences and surfing. Intrigued by the company, they decided to apply for a marketing internship, in which they were both accepted!
A hands-on marketing experience
During their internship at Salty Experiences, Hanna and Ludovica were involved in various marketing activities. Their responsibilities included tasks like managing the company's social media presence, creating engaging content, enhancing brand visibility, developing innovative marketing projects and finding new ways to connect with international audiences. Beyond their marketing tasks, they also gained experience in customer service, further strengthening their communication skills.
For Hanna and Ludovica, the most fulfilling parts of their internship included: gaining firsthand experience in an international work environment, applying classroom theories to real-world projects, watching their ideas come to life and seeing them implemented by the company. They also developed valuable technical skills, such as content creation, video editing, and working with excel.
The perfect balance: working and exploring
While their internship kept them busy, Hanna and Ludovica ensured they maintained a healthy work-life balance. This allowed them to fully immerse themselves in Portuguese culture, explore new places, and meet incredible people along the way.
