Studies International Bachelor Economics and Business Economics (IBEB)
Studying abroad had been my long-awaited dream since I was very young. I was born in Jakarta and throughout my childhood I had been travelling around the country due to my father’s occupation. However, my goal is to see the world, not only a small scope which is called Indonesia, but I want to be internationally qualified, socially and academically. Having a chance to meet and have contact with people from all around the world, as well as to experience a high quality international knowledge is something that Erasmus Education Fund has made come true for me.
I came from a typical middle class family. That is why, it is not an easy task for my parents to send their children abroad. However, they sent me to the Netherlands anyway after seeing my ambition and motivation, even though at that time we had not known if there would be a scholarship. Just a couple of months after Erasmus University Rotterdam sent me the letter of acceptance, I received an email from EEF about the available scholarship which made my heart jump for joy. Then, I immediately completed the application and waited for the announcement. A few days after my arrival in the Netherlands, EEF emailed me to inform that I was one of the applicants who got the scholarship.It was such a big relieve for me, and especially for my parents.
I am now studying International Bachelor Economics and Business Economics (IBEB) at EUR. After finishing the first year, I am even more convinced that I have chosen the right program which will lead me to my future goal to become an economist. The interactive atmosphere during lectures, the well-organized system at the university itself, and educators who are competent in their fields are some of the things that EUR has offered me. Also, I am so grateful to have the opportunity to gain knowledge from exceptional lecturers and to expand my network internationally. Moreover, the tough competition among students drives me to fight even more for the next two years of my study. Finally, all these things have been made possible through Erasmus Education Fund.
