I wanted an employer where there is a lot of innovation and where I, as an IT professional, can contribute to a more efficient, flexible and scalable IT landscape
Liselotte Keizer
Domain Architect
Liselotte Keizer has been working at EDIS since September 2023 as a Domain Architect of the Business Operations domain at Erasmus Digitalisation & Information Services (EDIS). The team of architects, consisting of around eight people, keeps an overview of all business processes, applications, infrastructure and integrations that are used within EUR. This way, they keep an eye on where there is room for improvement, where we want to go with the university long term and which choices we can best make with upcoming tenders.
'We are all critical thinkers', says Liselotte. 'We have a lot of discussions and we all have the intention to do things better.' Liselotte is currently the only woman in her team. 'Of course I would like to have another woman here. But the way it is now, is also completely fine. There is always room for a chat about work or our personal life and my colleagues all have different experiences. I can always get my point across.'
From EUR student to employee
'I have always liked companies with strong brand names and Erasmus University is one of them', says Liselotte. 'It is a renowned university, people immediately know what you are talking about when you say you work at Erasmus University. And I also wanted to choose a place where a lot of innovation takes place and where young, inquisitive people work.' Liselotte also studied at the university herself. 'I already thought it was a great place when I was a student, so I thought it was a good time to switch from the corporate world to for the education world.'
Plenty of room for personal input and development
'The university is an organisation that is very focused on its people. There is a good balance between work and private life. There are certainly busier periods, but that is always corrected in a quieter period. In addition, there is a lot of room for your own development', says Liselotte. 'And there is always something to do in terms of events, lectures or festivals. You really notice that there are a lot of young people walking around who still want to achieve all kinds of things and you can feel that energy on campus.'
