Who is not impressed by our vibrant, beautiful and cozy campus? The department that ensures this is Real Estate & Facilities (RE&F). They are responsible for the buildings, the greenery, the layout, accessibility and safety on our campus. They work on making sure Woudestein is a clean and safe campus and a beautiful and inspiring place for everyone. Facility services, the professionalisation of the purchasing process and the harmonisation of work processes also make part of the department.
Their mission is to make students, employees and visitors feel welcome and at home on Woudestein campus. As an employee of Real Estate & Facilities you work at a versatile department that is located in the beating heart of Erasmus University Rotterdam!
Collaboration is key
At RE&F there is an informal culture, where hospitality, good service, progressiveness, entrepreneurship and expertise are the main values. The employees form a close-knit team. A team that takes responsibility and progressive, sees opportunities and thinks in possibilities and solutions. A team that enjoys their work and finds collegiality important. The RE&F stand-up takes place once a month, where colleagues will receive and share information and updates about developments within our department. Every quarter RE&F organises a meeting where information is shared interactively based on a theme and/or work is done to improve cooperation.

Working at RE&F means:
- A pleasant and friendly working atmosphere
- A department outing every year
- A yearly ugly Christmas jumper party
- Fresh fruit at the office every week
- Exercise with your colleagues
Sustainability at RE&F
Erasmus University Rotterdam wants to be the most sustainable university in the Netherlands and has developed a sustainability strategy for this. RE&F plays an important role in the implementation of this strategy. Sustainability is central to everything they do. RE&F believes that it is their responsibility to contribute to a sustainable future. Their mission is to create a healthy, safe and sustainable environment for all students, staff and visitors of the university.
An important aspect of this strategy is the development and management of energy-efficient buildings. We strive to minimize our ecological footprint by using green building materials, energy-efficient installations and smart building management technologies. New buildings are designed with the highest standards for sustainability and energy efficiency.
