Job description

As a data analyst, you’re part of the RDIS BI team at RSM and play a key role in helping departments realise data-driven decision-making by creating clear and reliable reports and dashboards.

Our BI team facilitates departments and our Executive Board with data and data insights on several key domains including research, education and operations. Your focus lies on education, where you support various stakeholders by delivering clear, insightful reports and dashboards using Power BI. 
 
Your responsibilities include: 

  • Performing data analyses to support policy or operational questions 
  • Creating Power BI reports and dashboards 
  • Using DAX in Power BI for calculations and insights 
  • Working with existing data models and learning to improve them 
  • Being actively involved in improving data quality and usability. 

Job requirements

We would like you to have the following: 

  • A completed bachelor degree (Dutch hbo-level) in data science, business analytics, information management, or a related field; 
  • One to four years of experience in a similar role; 
  • Basic to intermediate experience with Power BI, DAX and Excel; 
  • Experience with or interest in SQL; 
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; 
  • Good communication skills and can seamlessly work with various stakeholders; 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; and 
  • Strong command of the Dutch and English language (CEFR C1). 


Preferably, you also possess knowledge of or experience with data modelling fundamentals, process thinking and working in higher education environments.

The start date of this position is 01-OCT-2025 and you will be based at [class.26087] in Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM). This position is for 0.8 fte - 1 fte. The salary is dependent on your experience and knowledge and ranges from a minimum of € 3,378 to a maximum of € 5,331 gross per month Scale 10 on a fulltime basis (38 hours), in accordance with the CAO-NU. The contract is offered for a period of one year and can be converted into an employment contract for an indefinite period if suitability is proven and if continued in the same position, if (financial and/or organisational) circumstances remain the same.

Department

As a data analyst at RSM EUR, you are part of our growing BI team in the RSM Digitalisation & Information Services (RDIS) department. In addition to business consultancy, RDIS delivers research software engineering and consulting, customised software, and functional application support for RSM's business lines. Demand management, IT purchasing and ordering, information management and the privacy officer are also in this department. The whole team consists of approximately 22 staff members, and RDIS is known as a professional and caring department.
