Job description

An enthusiastic and inspiring lecturer, you can help us to positively influence the future of finance through education. You are responsible for:

  • Teaching RSM’s courses in the programme portfolio of the Finance department:
    • MSc Finance & Investments
    • BSc programmes
  • Supervising and coaching students with their MSc theses and BSc projects
  • Performing various coordinating tasks.

Our MSc Finance & Investments programme offers a world-class, one-year general finance curriculum, in which students follow compulsory and elective courses and write a thesis. As our lecturer, you work closely with other members in the department and with the academic director (AD).

As part of your tasks, you can also work on projects that are related to innovation in teaching and educational research. RSM offers you developmental support, including teaching qualifications. This way, you can further develop into one of our senior lecturers.

Job requirements

As a successful applicant, we expect that you have or will shortly obtain your PhD degree in finance, accounting or economics. This demonstrates your strong interest and proven track record in teaching at the BSc and MSc levels.

Furthermore, you are:

  • fluent in English (read, write, speak), in which you are expected to teach at an academic level
  • a passionate and persuasive teacher
  • a team player who is open to collaboration with faculty members across RSM's courses and programmes
  • eager to deliver high-quality content and constructive feedback
  • proactive, conscientious and you have a talent for organisation.

Employment conditions and benefits

The conditions of employment correspond with the collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU).

Your salary is subject to training and experience and may vary from a minimum of € 3,378 (scale 10 CAO NU) and up to a maximum of € 6,209 gross per month (scale 11 CAO NU), based on a full-time contract of 38 hours.

Additional information

The lecturer appointment of 0.8 – 1.0 FTE, is initially for two years and can be extended to a maximum duration of four years.

We offer a hybrid combination of online and on-campus working hours. Working remotely is an option you can discuss with your supervisor.

Additionally, we offer excellent training and career development opportunities. You collaborate closely with experienced faculty members to develop and deliver courses at the BSc and MSc levels. RSM has a dedicated Learning Innovation Team (LIT), which supports faculty members in the improvement and innovation of their courses and programmes.
