Introduction
Erasmus University College (EUC) is searching for a Marketing & Communications Officer to use their marketing skills, branding knowledge, data analysis and online experience to engage across several types of media with current and potential students. We want you to help us explain what EUC is and the benefits we can provide to students and why it’s such a fantastic place to work and study.
For this role, we’re looking for a new colleague who’s confident in English and Dutch at least at C1 level in both languages.
Job description
As our Marketing & Communications Officer, you will be responsible for way EUC looks and feels across all media. You’ll coordinate our marketing communication tools with current and prospective students. You’ll ensure our website is up to date and engaging; oversee our social media presence, and plan for strategic advertising campaigns for our annual student recruitment campaigns. You’ll work as part of our student marketing team and alongside student ambassadors.
- Coordinate and continuously improve all digital branding and communication, such as the EUC website, EUC social media content and emails to potential and prospective students via our CRM system.
- Create online advertising via social media and SEO and monitor and analyse statistics and the performance across our digital media.
- Prepare longer-term strategic plans to identify the most appropriate media for specific target groups and prepare regular content and specific messages.
- Contribute to the strategic marketing and student recruitment plan for EUC
- Prepare publications such as leaflets and brochures, branding materials, etc. working closely with colleagues responsible for student recruitment and admissions to align messages and tone.
- Occasionally attend student recruitment fairs, visit schools and other student events across Europe to represent EUC in person.
- Seek input and feedback from current students on their experience of EUC communications, branding and reputation
- Coordinate and update EUC’s articles and events on the EUC/EUR intranet
Job requirements
We are seeking applicants that:
- have relevant working experience in the field of Marketing and Communication – specifically Online Marketing at least at HBO (higher vocational education) or higher degree level of thinking and working;
- have advanced communication skills: you write easily and have an eye for the right visuals to go with that, and you can liaise and work with people at all levels;
- are comfortable producing and analysing data on the performance of our communications. We use Google Analytics so experience with this would be an advantage;
- can display their creative ability with programmes such as Canva or Photoshop;
- are familiar with the structure of the Dutch Education systeem (VWO and higher education)
- understand how to convey the right message to the right target group
- are confident in English and Dutch at least at C1 level in both languages and are completely at ease working in an international (educational) environment
- are creative yet meticulous in planning and organizing;
- are well able to work with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Additional desirable skills/experience:
- relevant working experience in Higher Educational institution;
- experience with CRM systems (we use Microsoft Dynamics);
- eager to learn new skills and personal development;
experience of Higher Education-specific software, eg. OSIRIS.
Employment conditions and benefits
We offer you an internationally oriented and varied job in an enthusiastic team, with excellent working conditions in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU).
The start date of this position is to be discussed. You will be based at the Erasmus University College (EUC). This position is for 0.8 fte - 1 fte. The salary is dependent on your experience and knowledge and ranges from a minimum of € 3.218 to a maximum of € 4.298 gross per month (scale 8) on a fulltime basis (38 hours), in accordance with the CAO-NU. The contract is offered for a period of 1 year and can be converted into an employment contract for an indefinite period if suitability is proven and if continued in the same position, if (financial and/or organizational) circumstances remain the same.
