The Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication is a dynamic and internationally oriented faculty, which offers three bachelor programmes, three master programmes, and one research master programme that are all taught in English, with a variety of courses in the fields of History, Arts and Culture Studies, and Media and Communication.

International Bachelor History
This programme is centred around societal, economic, political and cultural themes and not (as with many other programmes) historical periods. This means that one day, you may be studying a 17th-century account of the travels of an employee of the Dutch East India Company, while the next day, you focus on the impact of international treaties on the retention of cultural heritage.
Focusing on themes lets you keep an eye on the big picture, which teaches you to establish links between historical and contemporary developments and learn not just to understand the past but also the issues facing society today.Â
Our programme is particularly suitable for exchange students of History, International Relations and Politics programmes. However, we also welcome exchange students from other majors who would like to follow courses in Modern History and Business/Economic History.

International Bachelor Arts and Culture Studies
This programme offers a unique approach to the world of arts and culture. During the course, students acquire a thorough understanding of how the cultural sector is organised, and gain insight into the socio-economic and political contexts that allow the arts to flourish.
The contemporary cultural landscape requires creative professionals with analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of cultural policy, arts education, art markets, audiences, heritage, cultural organizations, creative industries and entrepreneurship in a global perspective.
Our programme is particularly suitable for students of Art History, Culture Studies, Creative Industries, Arts Management and Cultural Sociology. However, we also welcome exchange student from other majors who would like to know more about the business and sociology of the Arts and Culture sector.

International Bachelor Communication and Media
This programme takes a comparative, international approach to communication and media studies. A wide variety of courses covering the impact of media on political and cultural life, as well as on entire economies across the globe are included in our curriculum.
At the same time we also reflect on how mediation has transformed international relations and business opportunities, but also citizenship and democracy, cognition and culture, as well as people's personal and working lives. Bringing a unique programme that brings together the fields of Communication and Media.
Our courses are particularly suitable for students of Media Studies, Communications, Film Studies, Journalism, and Public Relations programs.
