The Erasmus University has reserved 200 rooms for our first year International bachelor, master and exchange students.

After 10 minutes the booking code will be available again.

Standard Queen specifically equipped for wheelchair users

Room inventory

Same as general rooms but specifically equipped for wheelchair users.

Shared kitchen access

The rooms share kitchen facilities with five other students. These shared kitchens were not originally designed for wheelchair users and some appliances may be positioned too high to reach independently. To accommodate this, TSH will arrange a cooking plate set-up on a lower table in the kitchen, as well as provide a private fridge and microwave in the room.

Laundry room

Due to the layout of the building, the laundry room is in the basement and can only be accessed via stairs. For this reason, TSH will take care of the student’s laundry. This service can be arranged upon arrival and scheduled on a preferred weekday.

Doors

Not all doors within the building are sliding doors, including the room and shared kitchen doors. Some arm strength may be required to operate these doors.

Emergency alarm

The rooms are equipped with an emergency alarm. Please note that this alarm does not notify the reception desk directly and can only be heard in nearby rooms. For this reason, it is important that the student always keeps a mobile phone with them in order to contact us or the emergency services (112) if needed.

Wardrobe accessibility

The rooms are fitted with open wardrobes. Depending on individual needs, these may not be ideal for wheelchair users. If required, TSH is happy to explore alternative solutions together. Students are also welcome to bring their own accessible wardrobe set-up if preferred.

Additional useful information

• The rooms are located on the first floor and can be accessed via two different lifts.
• There are two accessible toilets located on the ground floor near the public spaces.
• All building entrances are equipped with ramps to ensure smooth access.

While our facility is not entirely optimized for wheelchair users, we are very eager to learn and continuously improve our spaces. During the stay, we will check in with the student individually to identify any additional needs and will do our very best to accommodate them where possible.
