Transport card with discount for international students

In the Netherlands it is highly recommended to use an OV-chipkaart for travelling by public transport (more info here). Basically, this is your card with which you will pay for all your means of transportation, you simply check-in and out with your card. The two different types available are:

  • An anonymous card without any discount
  • A personal card, allows you to purchase subscriptions from travel companies, but you need a Dutch debit card and the buying process is written in Dutch

Student Mobility Card (with discount)

Erasmus University collaborates with Student Mobility to provide international students easy access to all forms of transport in the Netherlands. With Student Mobility you are able to receive a customized public transport card (+ an ISIC Student-ID) with special discounts for international students! You can use this card for train, tram, metro and bus.

Reserve your Bike and Public Transport Card (with discounts) via the EUR!

Public transport and Cycling are the most important forms of transport for students in the Netherlands. Unfortunately both are also pretty complex for internationals. Familiarizing yourself with public transport and buying, maintaining and selling a bike can be a handful, especially when you are only in the Netherlands for a semester or one academic year.

To solve this problem, Student Mobility and EUR University have teamed up to offer a dedicated mobility package. You get a public transport card customised for internationals and a durable lease bike, without maintenance (handbrakes and 7-gears).
