The Administrative Agreement (in Dutch Bestuursakkoord, in short BA) is the basis of a number of stimulus funds coming towards the university, partly to reduce workload and partly to improve teaching quality. Specifically, for education it involves:
- Quality improvement of education in line with strategy and vision
- Encouraging Diversity and Inclusion
- Stimulation of Student Wellbeing
The BA funds replace the Higher Education Quality and Innovation Agenda, which expired at the end of 2024. Until 2028, Erasmus MC will receive an additional € 2.3 million each year (with indexation).
How to handle BA funds.
The way faculty have to handle BA funds is very similar to the way the HoKa funds could be spent:
- The amount to be spent is about the same.
- Improving the quality of education (in the broadest sense) is the main objective to be achieved.
- The funds should be spent on projects of limited duration. Here it is important that for projects, the results of which must be implemented in regular operations (e.g. in a curriculum) there is also financial room.
- There is a clear involvement of co-determination. The co-determination has the right to advice and consent and is informed of the projects as early as possible in the process. Furthermore, the co-determination body is expected to monitor the achievement of results and financial management.
Faculty Education Agenda
The Faculty Education Agenda (FOA) is a list of projects to be carried out by Erasmus MC's undergraduate and graduate programs in a given year. This includes projects financed through governmental agreement funds, but also projects subsidized in other ways.
