deelnemers van de summerschool ArtEra

Would you like to dive into a three-day program full of lectures by scientists and artists, interactive workshops and excursions this summer? Sign up for a fellowship of the ArtEra Summer School at Erasmus MC, from July 29-31.

ArtEra’s summer school is a three-day program held at Erasmus MC. Fifteen fellows immerse themselves in this year's theme: Planetary Health. Together with researchers, artists, creatives, and thinkers, the fellows explore this theme from various perspectives through talks, discussions, workshops, and collaborations.

For whom?

The Summer School is for bachelor and master students and recent graduates from all backgrounds, from medicine and nanobiology to students at TU Delft or Willem de Kooning. Students receive a compensation for time and expenses of 150 euros and young professionals one of 450 euros. The fellows will engage with issues that are crucial in their future and could have a lasting meaning in their careers. More information about the theme and registration can be found on ArtEra's webpage.

About the theme

For decades, we have witnessed the Earth showing signs of deep illness: blistering heat, rising sea levels, and floods. Using research at Erasmus MC as a starting point, the fellows explore the ecological crisis through the lens of healthcare. They ask; how to (re)connect healthcare to nature? We cast nature as chaotic and medicine as exact. Can these two worlds find a shared language again?

The results

The results of the Summer School will be presented at Erasmus MC’s public event, Lof der Geneeskunst, on October 3rd and will be elaborated into an exhibition that will open in March 2026 at ArtEra in Erasmus MC.
