The Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management (ESHPM) offers the Erasmus International Regulator Course, a programme designed for professionals working in organisations that regulate quality and safety in health and care. Delivered in collaboration with the Expert Group on Health & Care Regulation at ESHPM, the Care Quality Commission (England), the Norwegian Board of Health Supervision, and the Health and Youth Care Inspectorate (Netherlands), the course combines theoretical insights, practical knowledge, international perspectives, and opportunities to connect with colleagues from around the world.
Since its launch, 76 professionals from 12 countries have successfully completed the course, and the upcoming edition will welcome an additional 30 participants.
Participants explore key themes such as user engagement, safety science, and the future of regulation, and develop group projects on topics including artificial intelligence, just culture, adverse events, staff well-being, and inequality in healthcare. The programme concludes with opportunities for reflection, networking, and shared learning experiences.
“These professionals demonstrate great commitment throughout the course, developing regulatory strategies that address today’s complex challenges,” according to course director Prof. Ian Leistikow. “They return to their organizations with knowledge and experience that strengthens the impact of regulation on healthcare quality and safety.”
The Erasmus International Regulator Course continues to grow a global network of regulatory professionals, with new editions welcoming participants from around the world.
