On Friday 1 March 2019 at 16.00 Prof. dr. Jeroen Temperman, Professor of International Law and Religion in Interdisciplinary Context at Erasmus School of Law, will give his inaugural lecture in the Aula of Erasmus University Rotterdam. The title of his inaugural lecture is: ‘Corporate Religious Freedom and the Rights of Others: Calibrating Human Rights in Times of Pluralist Dilemmas’

In his inaugural lecture, Prof. Temperman will engage with the emerging notion of corporate religious freedom and address the question of how to balance this controversial freedom with the clashing rights of others.

More information

Prof. Temperman obtained his PhD in 2009 at the Irish Centre for Human Rights, a research centre of the National University of Ireland (Galway); his dissertation was entitled State-Religion Relationships and Human Rights Law: Towards a Right to Religiously Neutral Governance.

Prof. Temperman is the co-founder of the Erasmus Institute for Public Knowledge (EIPK), an interdisciplinary research institute on public issues, for scientists from the social sciences and humanities.
