It is our pleasure to invite you to our bi-annual Workshop on Experiments at the Crossroads of Law and Economics, co-organized by Erasmus School of Law and Erasmus School of Economics. Presenters come from different fields (law, economics and psychology) and discuss their work relevant to legal questions. Each presentation is then followed up by a stimulating discussion. 

Participation in the workshop is free of charge, however, in order to have an estimation of the number of participants, please register by sending an email to rile-sec@law.eur.nl until 20 March 2019.

About prof. Xandra Kramer

Xandra Kramer is professor of Private Law at Erasmus School of Law. She combines this position with a parttime (0,2) professorship in Private International Law at Utrecht University. In addition, she is a Deputy Judge at the District Court of Rotterdam. 

She conducts research and lectures in the area of private international law, international litigation, comparative law, arbitration, mediation, and European private law and has published numerous articles and several books in these areas. She is particularly fascinated by the cross-roads between economic efficiency and procedural fairness, the actual functioning of civil justice systems and its impact on litigants, transnational complex litigation and enforcement, and the harmonisation of EU private international law and civil procedure. Her research combines doctrinal legal research, comparative law, policy-oriented and (qualitative) empirical research.

About Prof. Christoph Engel

Christoph Engel is a director of the Bonn Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods, and Professor at the Universities of Bonn and Rotterdam. He works on behavioral law and economics, sometimes branching out on psychology, and on empirical legal studies more broadly. He mainly uses experimental methods. He currently has a series of projects using experiments as a novel approach to comparative law.

About Dr Elene Kantorowicz-Reznichenko

Dr. Elena Kantorowicz-Reznichenko is a researcher, lecturer and the academic coordinator of the European Doctorate in Law & Economics (EDLE). She holds two bachelor degrees in law and psychology from the University of Haifa; two master degrees: LL.M. from the University of Haifa and the degree of European Master in Law and Economics (EMLE, Erasmus Mundus Scholarship, cum laude) from the University of Hamburg, University of Ghent and University of Vienna. Elena obtained her PhD degree from the Erasmus University Rotterdam, University of Hamburg (summa cum laude) and the University of Bologna. She is also a qualified attorney in Israel and has worked in the past as a criminal prosecutor in the District Attorney’s Office in Israel. Elena’s main expertise are criminal law and economics, behavioral and experimental law and economics, international criminal law.
