Alessandra Arcuri appointed as professor of International Law

Alessandra Arcuri

Prof. Alessandra Arcuri has been appointed as professor of International Law (1.0 FTE) at Erasmus School of Law with effect from 1 October 2018 on the chair 'Including Global Law and Governance' within the International and European Union Law (IEUL) section.

Large parts of current communities are excluded from the benefits of economic globalization. Especially the richest one per cent of the world's population is the 'winner' of globalization. Prof. Arcuri's research focuses on the question of how (quasi-) legal institutions can develop into more inclusive organizations and which institutional constructions are needed for this. The fact that the law is critically studied within society is in keeping with the profile of Erasmus School of Law.

Because of the existing research projects within the IEUL section on the coherence between European institutions and global governance, Prof. Arcuri will seek cooperation with several other sections, namely Private Law, STeM, Tax Law and Law and Economics.
