The Faculty of Philosophy will have a new name per September 1st 2018: Erasmus School of Philosophy. With this name change the philosophers join the other faculties at Erasmus University Rotterdam who have changed their name to Erasmus School over the last years.
With the success of the English taught programmes and the increase in the number of non-Dutch speaking students comes a change in the name as well. The reinvention of the bachelor Double Degree with Philosophy and the master Philosophy was a new beginning for the philosophers of Erasmus University Rotterdam. The name Erasmus School of Philosophy is fully in line with these positive changes.
Earlier this summer the philosophers moved to a new location, the fifth floor of the Bayle Building. Professor in Philosophy of the Public Sphere Marli Huijer wrote an article about this move. You can read the article Philosophers on the move here.
