Charcoal is a super direct and expressive material—you see immediate results. At the same time, you can use it very subtly: from light, soft shadows to deep, powerful lines. During this workshop, you will discover how to create atmosphere and depth using different techniques. Step by step, your sketch will evolve into a developed, compelling drawing.

We provide the materials: charcoal, charcoal pencils, and paper.

Teacher: Jolanda Linssen, visual artist and a teacher of visual arts in drawing, painting, and graphic techniques.
