GenAI’s true cost isn’t just financial; it’s environmental. Let’s uncover the hidden footprint of its not-so-sustainable ecosystem.
In this GenAI Meetup, we will delve into the environmental costs of generative AI technologies. EUR AI-Taskforce member Oliver Kriebl-Bruno will shine a light on the environmental concerns surrounding AI, the growing divide between the Global North and South, and the practices of AI companies that often obscure their environmental footprints.
We will explore the importance of collective action and the role – and responsibility – of the university as an institution in mitigating its impact. As a participant, you will have a chance to make real recommendations that Oliver will bring to the AI Taskforce and influence how the university could address this pressing issue.
