Erasmus Paviljoen & Live stream
While the world watches the American elections, we want to take a critical look at how we define what democracy is or should be. This live debate, led by 3 theatre makers as part of a large research project, aims to create a democratic experience for almost everyone.
Authoritarian leaders, algorithms and global capital. Democracies are under pressure from all sides. If we want to shape power in a fair way, something needs to change. But what exactly, and how?
During a live performance the makers invite you on a research trip. A visual and musical show, full of stories and dialogue. From the history of democracy through present problems towards a possible future. A big, pleasant, theatrical investigation of the future of democracy, but also an active invitation to stand for new ideas. Because change is in our own hands.
The performance is made by New Heroes together with ARSENAAL/LAZARUS and Het Zuidelijk Toneel within the European cultural network IN SITU.
