Below is a brief summary of the dissertation:

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), encompassing Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, is placing an increasingly burden on healthcare systems. Both societal costs and the overall disease burden are escalating rapidly, driven predominantly by the use of costly medications. This doctoral thesis demonstrates that a standardised care pathway can substantially reduce healthcare expenditures while preserving patient quality of life.
