On Wednesday 28 September 2022, E.J. Baan will defend her PhD dissertation, entitled: ‘Asthma in Primary Care. Exacerbations, prescription patterns and medication safety across countries’.
Dissertation in short:
The aim of this thesis is to better understand the management of asthma in primary care. We focused on the incidence of asthma exacerbations, asthma treatment in real life, and the safety of asthma medication. Additionally we studied antibiotic use in asthma patients and investigated risk factors for asthma exacerbations.

The public defence will begin exactly at 10.30 hrs. The doors will be closed once the public defence starts, latecomers can access the hall via the fourth floor. Due to the solemn nature of the ceremony, we recommend that you do not take children under the age of 6 to the first part of the ceremony.
