Brief summary on the aim of the doctoral thesis:
There are numerous examples of unethical behavior by non-governmental organizations. Despite examples of NGO unethical behavior, NGOs are commonly perceived as ‘good’ organizations. Coupling the perception of NGOs as morally good with the realization that they are not immune to unethical behavior seems paradoxical. This dissertation examines whether NGO unethical behavior should indeed be considered as paradoxical. Unethical behavior, in its broadest sense, refers to actions that violate established moral norms or ethical standards within a specific context.
