Social Impact of Science and Technology in the Netherlands and Flanders

The stimulation and measurement of the societal impact of science is in the spotlight. The conviction has grown that scientific Impact and societal Impact are both important. The Netherlands has taken pioneering initiatives, and in Flanders too notable successes have been achieved. In order to achieve more impact and innovation from science. Yet the distance between science and practice remains large. Both in the Netherlands and Flanders, parameters are being sought to better measure and stimulate the social return on science, for both universities and colleges. This conference will bring together and discuss the latest initiatives.
