Changes to databases per January 2022

""

From January 2022, there are changes to various databases:

  • Web of Science
The backfile of the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) has been added to the Core Collection of Web of Science. The backfile gives access to records from 2005 (previously the start year was 2015). ESCI contains more than 7.800 journals, meeting the quality criteria of Web of Science, but they don't (yet) meet the impact criteria needed to be added to the Science Citation Index Expanded, the Social Sciences Citation Index or the Arts & Humanities Citation Index, the other parts of the Core Collection of Web of Science. If you are re-run a query for a literature review you might find extra results, published in the period 2005-2014.
  • JSTOR
JSTOR ended its Journal Hosting Program, which means that JSTOR now only offers access to archive collections, with a moving wall of 3 or 5 years. The most recent issues are no longer available on JSTOR. Some journals moved to a new platform, the Scholarly Publishing Collective. Until March 31, 2022 all content on this platform is free to access.
  • Philosopher's Index
The access and search functionality has been changed: Philosopher's Index is now available via the ProQuest Platform. This bibliographical database for philosophy indexes books and journals from 1940 to present.
  • Poiesis
The access to the journal collection Poiesis is not renewed. The individual journal subscriptions are still available via Philosophy Documentation Center.
  • Oxford Scholarship Online Philosophy
The Evidence Based Acquisition (EBA) pilot with Oxford Scholarship Online Philosophy ended. The books acquired within the pilot are available via the Oxford Platform and can be found in sEURch.
