The heritage collections consist of books printed before 1850 and rare books, among which are many sources for the history of economics, as well as the library and archive of Nobel Prize winner Jan Tinbergen (1903-1994).

Several heritage collections are part of the Rotterdamsch Leeskabinet, for instance a collection of writings by and studies on the English philosopher John Locke (1632-1704).
