On November 17, the Center for Historical Culture organizes the symposium Heritage, Education and the Nation. For this symposium the CHC welcomes two international guests: Dr. David Ludvigsson (Linköping University) and Dr. Cesar Lopez (Autonomous University of Madrid).

Dr. David Ludvigsson (Sweden), "Guided walks at Swedish historical sites". 
In a project financed by the the Swedish National Heritage Board, David Ludvigsson and his colleagues Lasse Kvarnström and Bodil Axelsson are investigating the role(s) of guides in the cultural heritage sector. Central in this presentation will be gender aspects of walks in Norrköpings's Industrial Landscape.

Dr. Cesar Lopez (Spain), "Re-thinking master national narratives" 
National narratives can be still considered as key narratives in the domain of history. In this presentation the role of national narratives as master narratives will be discussed. Cesar Lopez will analyse how these national narratives are developed, transmitted and consume. He will also present some empirical studies on how Spanish college students understand these narratives and their influence on students' understanding of key historical concepts such as nation and national identity.
