Alex van Stipriaan wins Dutilh-prize for best book on Rotterdam

Alex van Stipriaan, Professor Caribbean history, has won the prestigious Dutilh Prize for his book 'Rotterdam in slavernij’. The Dutilh Prize is awarded every two years to the author of the best book on Rotterdam. The announcement took place at the Day of Rotterdam History in the Laurenskerk in Rotterdam, on Saturday, June 25. Alex van Stipriaan received a cheque of 6,000 euro and a Joep van Lieshout statuette from mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb.
