Almost 30,000 euros for Erasmus Education Fund

Bijna 30000 euro voor Erasmus Education Fund

Nearly 30,000 euros has been raised for the Erasmus Education Fund during the Erasmus Charity Run 2016, which has been run during the Rotterdam Marathon on April 10. The runners were responsible for more than 16,000 euros, the Executive Board added 13,000 euros. 

More than 500 students, staff and alumni from Erasmus University Rotterdam collected money for the Erasmus Education Fund during the Rotterdam Marathon. They were the biggest team taking part in this running event. The Erasmus Education Fund provides talented underprivileged youngsters with student grants so that they too get the chance to make their dreams and ambitions come true at Erasmus University.

This year, a record amount the Erasmus Charity Run has been raised: 16.864,24 euros. The Executive Board added another 13,000 euros because of the fantastic performance of all runners. On Thursday, April 14th, the cheques were handed over in the presence of the winners of the Erasmus Charity Run.

 

The Erasmus Charity Run centred on the theme ‘Make it happen’, a slogan shared by Erasmus University, the Municipality of Rotterdam, Port of Rotterdam Authority and Rotterdam Partners.

Every year, students, staff and alumni from Erasmus University get together in one big team and take part in the quarter marathon (10.5 km) or the entire run during the Rotterdam Marathon.
