At Erasmus University various movements are forming willing to discuss the opportunities of re-organizing university management and re-thinking the societal role of the university. During the third Arts & Culture Talkshow, a talkshow created and presented by staff members and students of Arts and Culture Studies, professor Willem Schinkel will reflect upon the occupational movements and will discuss future prospects for The New University.
Proper participation in decision-making at all levels of the university is absolutely essential, President of the Executive Board Pauline van der Meer Mohr and University Council President René Karens stated, on the day that students at all Dutch universities raise their voices. The University Council, the Executive Board and the deans launched a joint project to improve the participation at all levels.
Willem Schinkel (1976) is Professor of Social Theory at Erasmus University Rotterdam and a member of the Young Academy of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW).
