On 26 of November 2019, a delegation from Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation (CAITEC) visited the EUR.
CAITEC is an inter-disciplinary and multifunctional institution of economic and trade research and consultancy directly under the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) of China. The meeting was organized and held by Ms Weichia Tseng, Managing Director of Erasmus University China Centre (EUCC). The CAITEC delegation was led by Prof. GU Xueming, the President of CAITEC and two additional delegation members: the Division Director, Prof. ZHANG Peng, and the Research Associate, Prof. HAN Lu. As special guests, Mr. ZHANG Guosheng, Economic and Commercial Counsellor and his third secretary, Mr. ZHANG Hongyi from Chinese Embassy also attended this meeting. On the EUR side, representatives from RSM, ESE, and ESL joined the meeting and the discussion.
One of the purposes of this visit was to discuss potential cooperation between CAITEC and EUR, mainly focus on carrying out joint studies on bilateral trade, economic cooperation and the world economy and setting up joint-training project for master students and exchange students/scholar visit programs. The other purpose was to share insights between two parties for topics, including strategic trade control, modern logistics, and digital business and e-commerce. Both parties have benefited a lot from the discussions.
The meeting was very successful and fruitful, especially on establishing the cooperation between CAITEC and EUR. Moreover, CAITEC has shown interest in cooperating with schools (RSM/ESE/ESL) within EUR.
