Our colleague dr. Jacco van Sterkenburg has been selected as a Young Erasmus member by a committee headed by prof. Huib Pols. The appointment is for a period of five years. He previously won the EUR research prize and was awarded a EUR Fellowship early this year.
Young Erasmus promotes interdisciplinary cooperation between excellent young researchers. Additionally, Young Erasmus advises the Executive Board on matters relating to the academic and research policies and contributes to strengthening the profile of the EUR in the public domain. The candidates were assessed on the basis of their scientific quality, their motivation and the breadth of their curriculum vitae. Jacco van Sterkenburg has been selected because of his richly variegated CV and his proven interest in issues of policy. The Committee expects that he will make a very valuable contribution to the development of the public activities of the network.
