EHERO European Launch - World Happiness Report 2015

As of Thursday 21 May the European launch of the World Happiness Report 2015 is organised by Erasmus Happiness Economics Research Organisation (EHERO), the multidisciplinary research organisation and centre of expertise on happiness of Erasmus University Rotterdam. The Netherlands is placed as the 7th happiest country in the report. Switzerland leads the ranking, followed by Iceland and Denmark, the ranking consists of 158 nations.

The European launch is organised by EHERO. During the event editors of the report, professors John Helliwell and Richard Layard, will discuss why the Netherlands have dropped to 7th place; how determinants of happiness in nations have changed and what possibilities there are to incorporate happiness into policy decisionmaking.

Prof. Ruut Veenhoven, affiliated with EHERO, will present on happiness and development and Dr Martijn Burger together with Elena Lanchovichina of the World Bank will present on research if the Arabic Spring could have been predicted based on data on happiness instead of GDP.
