Inaugural Lecture by Dr. Martine Bouman on January 22, 2016

The rector magnificus of the Erasmus University Rotterdam has announced the appointment of dr. Martine Bouman as endowed professor of Entertainment Media and Social Change at the Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication.

Dr. Bouman will publicly accept her appointment on Friday January 22, 2016with an inaugural lecture entitled: “Amusing Ourselves to Health and Happiness”. The ceremony takes place in the Aula, Erasmus Building, at 4.00pm. There will be a reception at 4.45pm in front of the Aula.

Dr. Bouman has been a pioneer in the field of the Entertainment-Education (EE) strategy since 1985. Martine Bouman introduced the concept of Entertainment-Education in the Netherlands and laid the scientific foundation for the further growth and expansion of this communication strategy. Her research and teaching focuses on the Entertainment-Education strategy, Communication for Social Change the Positive Deviance strategy, Health Communication, Lifestyle Campaigns, Interactive Media and Storytelling.
